Barcelona Wine Bar – Restaurant Review

Barcelona is a new tapas restaurant and wine bar located at 2900 Larimer St in RiNo. It opened just over a week ago, and I had the pleasure of dining there this past Sunday. The space is large, but neatly divided so it perfectly balances the feeling of a cozy atmosphere and an open floor plan. The aesthetic is very much in line with the RiNo neighborhood, with a modern industrial feel, yet incorporating wood with the furniture and interior design.

My friend Lyndsey and I decided to go with the custom and shared a few tapas – the jamon serrano, the 6 month aged manchego, potato tortilla, crispy calamari, hangar steak, and the meatballs. All of the tapas were wonderful, and came out extremely quickly. They also have what might be the best bread in Denver.

We went with wine by the glass as we wanted both red and white, and all were excellent. The wine list by the bottle is extensive, and our waiter seemed very knowledgeable about it. The bar is large and inviting in the center of the space and would be great for a solo eater, or a couple of friends.

At the time they are not accepting reservations (although the website now says to call for reservations) so it’s walk in only. I highly recommend that you try this place out sooner than later, as I’m sure it’ll fill up quickly as word spreads.
