The Vail Valley saw a dramatic decrease in inventory in August compared to a year ago, with condos and townhomes for sale decreasing by almost 66% and single family homes and duplexes by 41.6%. While the latter saw a very similar decrease in number of sold properties, the number of sold condos and townhomes only dropped by 24.5%.
Prices increased across the board with the average price of a single family home/duplex was $2,351,417 up from $2,080,060 in August 2020, or a 13% appreciation. Condos and townhomes average about $1M less, or $1,304,263 average price in August 2021 compared to $1,071,824 a year prior.
